DRY VITAMIN A PALMITATE 250 S/N-B is a light yellow, free-flowing particles (beadlets) containing min. 250,000 IU/g of vitamin A (min. 137.5 mg/g of vitamin A palmitate equivalent to 75 mg/g of retinol) finely dispersed in a cornstarch-coated matrix of modified food starch and sucrose. It disperses quickly and completely in cold water, fruit juices, milk and other liquids. High concentrations give cloudy dispersions which, however remain uniform for relatively long periods. DRY VITAMIN A PALMITATE 250 S/N-B is sensitive to air, heat, light and humidity. It can be stored for 24 months from the date of manufacture in the unopened original container and at a temperature below 15°C. DRY VITAMIN A PALMITATE 250 S/N-B meets all requirements of the relevant monographs of the USP, the FCC and the Ph. Eur. when tested according to these compendia. It is suitable for dry food preparations, especially for the fortification of sugar.
